In 2010, businessman Jean Valvis started the construction of a water plant in Vatra Dornei, by company Carpathian Springs. Aqua Carpatica is a brand, sourced, bottled and distribuited by Carpathian Springs SA. The company operates two springs with natural mineral water, one with carbonated water amd the other with still mater. the annual bottling capacity is 92 million litres.

Interview of JEAN VALVIS – President & CEO

Question 1: Do you already export to JAPAN ? If yes, where ? If no, what type of importers & distributors are you looking for in JAPAN ?

We export AQUA Carpatica in Japan since 2015. Our main partner is METRO CASH & CARRY JAPAN K.K. We are looking for partners with a national distribution activity and we pay a keen attention to enter the largest Japanese retailers as well.

Question 2: What is the most unique and qualitative part of your products, different from competitors ?

We proud ourselves with the nature’s most perfect water. AQUA Carpatica is simply as natural mineral water should be: naturally pure water sourced from a protected area in the heart of Carpathian Mountains, far away from chemicals and fertilizers.

Our water combines an exceptionally balanced mineral content of calcium and magnesium that are so important in our daily activities. Nonetheless, we are virtually nitrate free and sodium free in both naturally still and sparkling versions making it a great choice for the health conscious, those pursuing a low-sodium diet and expectant mothers.

Question 3: When did you start to export your brand worldwide, and what is your development plan for the next years ?

We started exports of AQUA Carpatica in 2012 and since then the brand was worldwide distributed, mainly to: United States, Australia, United Kingdom, European Union (Germany, Italy, Spain, France), Russia, China, Israel and the Middle East area.
