In 2019, La Scolca celebrated the hundredth anniversary of its birth. Its vineyards are within the territory of Gavi in Rovereto, and they are considered the “Grand Cru” of Cortese. The company manages an area of about 50 hectares planted with vineyards, about 200 kilometers of rows that stratch on a clayey soil that helps the best expression of the Piedmontese white grape. The vines also reach sixty years of age.
The company today is led by Chiara Soldati, fifth generation, who has been able to combine the passion in the vineyard with a modern outlook on wine, markets and lifestyle.
Azienda Agricola La Scolca recently participated in the JAPAN Wines & Spirits Awards and won a GOLD Medal Award in this prestigious competition :

Interview of JAPAN Awards to Ms. Chiara Soldati – CEO de La Scolca
Question 1: Do you already export to JAPAN ? If yes, where ? If no, what type of importers & distributors are you looking for in JAPAN ?
Question 2: What is the most unique and qualitative part of your products, different from competitors?
Question 3: When did you start to export your brand worldwide, and what is your development plan for the next years?
The international vocation has characterized the work of our family from the very beginning. The challenge of my great-grandfather in the twentieth century was to produce a white wine capable of competing with the great world productions. A work that has allowed us to become an important reference point for the international market over the years, obtaining important awards. Today the daily challenge is to be innovators in tradition, able to look to the future and to interpret it being consistent with our history, our terroir and our vines. In recent years we have made important investments both in the cellar and in the vineyard, in order to offer a contemporary product.
Finally, we have always focused on the theme of sustainability; respect for the earth is, in fact, a fundamental commitment for us. We are convinced that great wine is born in the vineyard and taking care of it is the duty of each of us, because we must remember that the land is “on loan” and we must return it better than we found it.
